One of the fibrous silicate minerals found in nature is Asbestos and used for thermal insulation, high unbreakable strength. Asbestos is used as an insulator, fire proofing and in many products. Asbestos is made of very small bunches of fibers that can be carried by wind when damaged and these fibers when breathed in causes respiratory problems.

Product liability is the law for faulty or hazardous manufactured goods. The goods must be manufactured, tested and labeled safe and sound and when they display failure in standards, they bring about harm or death of consumers. Product Liability is in common law and the Uniform Commercial Code. Uniform Commercial Code, Article 2 focus on the marketing of products and is adopted by many states. It is of no importance if the consumer is careless or not. If there is flaw in the manufactured goods and that causes detriment, then the victim is legally responsible. In 1998 there were around 1200 deaths because of asbestosis and Mesothelioma. “Take-home” contact from industry also involves family members of workers who bring asbestos to their home on their hair, cloth, shoes is a visible risk and was put forward in a 1995 to Congress.
Asbestos causes Lung cancer, malignant Mesothelioma a cancer of tissue, nonmalignant pleural disease affecting lungs, and also cancer of larynx. Any cruel sickness is lethal and causes death in a year or so, but death due to asbestosis occurs after suffering many years of breathlessness.
